Bears

The possibility to monitor and photograph brown bears is available for the visitors during the period 1 May - 10 August. Based on several years experiences, the visitor may have "almost 100 % guarantee", that they will not spend their night in the cabin in vain.

The cabin is located in the middle of Kainuu wilderness, close to the Russian border. The visitors will be taken to the cabin by car from the main house of the Martinselkosen Eräkeskus. There is approx. half an hour walk from the car to the cabin.

In the day time the visitors have also the possibility to take a walk to the nature to photograph birds and other wild animals.

The photographers cabin is a large, comfortable and also safe log building, located in a beautifull environment. It easy to take photos due to well planned constructions and other arrangements.

And if someone wants to take a sleep during the night, there are beds available for this purpose.



In the large cabin there is a chemical toilet available for the visitors. For this reason it is conveninent to overnight in the cabin, were there either adults or children in the group.

	There is also a smaller cabin especially meant for the professional photographers. This smaller cabin is easy to locate to different spots in the area. This movability enables to locate it taking into account special requirements of the photographer (lightning circumnstances, environment, location along the route of the bears etc.)
